Fungi are the fruits of the forest and their network winds around the roots of the trees forming an underground internet of communication between trees. Members of Wakatipu Potters Group have chosen to celebrate this amazing kingdom as an example of how humans can relate to nature. The ceramic pieces that combine to form Fungi bring attention to this complex symbiotic relationship. A network of approximately 90 unique hand-crafted fungi take inspiration from the beautiful and elaborate organic forms and silhouettes as they spiral up into the branches above.
