LUMIFY

Jun 17, 2020 | BLOG

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in LUMIFY 2020 and helped illuminate the District over Queen’s Birthday Weekend. Together we managed to bring some joy to our communities and welcomed everyone back into our neighborhoods after time apart. It was truly uplifting to see Queenstown’s community spirit on full display with so many homes and businesses lit up over the weekend! We couldn’t do what we do without the ongoing support of our fantastic partners, QLDC, CLT, CTOS, SILO and Summit Events. Also, we’d like to send a big shout out to Sunny, Debbie and Janey for their initiative in kickstarting this community concept and sharing the love.

Here at LUMA HQ we’re excited to now turn our attention to 2021 and can’t wait to get back into the Queenstown Gardens to bring the sparkle that was so sorely missed this year.

In the meantime, we’ve been able to plan a few pop-up projects for the start of winter to keep the lights on and make the cold nights a bit brighter. Keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned for more details about these LUMA collabs!

Our arts community has been hit hard by COVID-19 and LUMA is proud to stand by our family of partners throughout this difficult time. LUMA is only made possible with the amazing support from our community, we thank you all.

The Lakes District has an enormous pool of creative talent and an enviable reputation for building world-class events and activations. If you’ve got an idea you’d like to see illuminated or want to support the creative community, get in touch: connect@luma.nz
