Hopefully, you didn’t miss out on all the amazing light installations that appeared along Queenstown’s waterfront in June, but if you did here’s a chance to re-live some of that magic with the official video!
LUMA is Queenstown’s very first light festival and this year’s 4 incredible sculptures were a small taste of what to expect from 2016 when the team plan to host a much larger event with a series of pieces across Queenstown’s Gardens. We can’t wait to see they come up with.
This year, Angus Muir & AJ Design Company’s stunning creations transformed some well known public spaces making interaction unavoidable while bringing art, culture and education to Queenstown’s waterfront and painting light across our unique alpine canvas. If you were lucky enough to see ‘Field’, ’Shroud’, ‘Ordered Chaos’ and ‘Digital Wattle’ in action you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about and I’m sure, like us, you’re excited for next year. You only have to look out of literally any window in town to see the limitless possibilities for all our jaw dropping scenery that can be brought to life with light.
We worked with the LUMA team from the beginning to create a promotional video which we wanted to really show off what made these light installations so engaging, interactive and appealing to the local community and tourists alike. Despite several long mornings and nights spent out in sub zero temps to get all the time-lapses, we loved the experience! Please check out the full video at the top of the page along with a few behind the scenes photos and promo stills from the event and share this with everyone so we can raise loads of interest and make LUMA Queenstown the biggest and best light festival in New Zealand!
