The ‘Ovals of Enlightenment’ is a collection of work that is a collaborative piece with the high school and primary schools across the Basin. There are 12 ovals in total, six from the high school and the other six from a collection of the primary schools.
During the early stages of planning for LUMA 2021, Rebecca Hembrow [School Programme lead/WHS Tech High School teacher] invited all primary schools to participate in a tailor-made workshop, organised and run by our School Programme lead. All resources were brought to the primary schools and the core focus is to engage students with creative interpretations of the theme.
The theme for LUMA 2021 was the Five ways to wellbeing as guided by Mental Health Foundation. Students were educated and reflected on their own mental health and gained an understanding of the significance of looking after themselves and each other.
